The General Adaptation Theory (GAT) provides
a general description across all disciplines of
how a troubling mismatch can be resolved.
Everybody knows: There are differences everywhere, which are resolved by changes towards adaptations. We start with a difference, then we change something in order to get adaptation. GAT differentiates this truism into a system theory based algorithm.
First: The General Adaptation Algorithm (GAA) describes every change.
Second: From a systems theory perspective, any change can be an adaptation.
The GAT use the algorithm and the description as a set of systems for an universal general adaptation algorithm:
- Capture the challenge!
- Defne the systems!
- Get their properties!
- Categorize the systems!
- Look for possible variations!
- Consider consequences!
- Act: Method - Application - Data!
- Compare!
- Learn!
